The money it cost and the guy didn't even wear a wig (I did)

Cost of my car is debatable (£300 - £500) - left hand drive, high mileage. It was given to me as a present by an ex some years ago, so I've no initial cost for it. I need it to get into work at very strange times of morning - nature of what I do for a "living" (if you want to call it living).0

Thanks, mine is worth around £900 and again need it for work as I work 25 miles away, so am concerned on this0

CAB told me that if you can get to/from work via public transport they'd be very interested in my car - I often have to make trips into work 4am/5am in the morning (sometimes earlier) when there's no public transport.
The OR specifically asked:- Do I need my car to travel to/from work.
- Do I need my car during the course of my work.

I work in the location with no public transport, to get there0

You should be fine then.
I'm sure it's not just the value of the car they're interested in, but also the running/maintenance costs, etc.0 -
MrE :T :T :T :T
That has to be one of the best posts and certainly the best account of BR day I have read on this board. I actually was laughing out loud, your style of writing appeals to my weird SOH.
I was picturing the "affray" - no better place I suppose, other than a Police Station, for getting it dealt with quickly.
"My" county court is next door to the magistrates court and on the day I went there was a very "interesting" selection of characters outside in various moods, emotions and of course alcohol intake (at 10am)
You were very brave to have a couple of drinks before speaking to the OR. If I did that, God only knows what s**t I would be coming out with. Alcohol gives me the verbal runs, I am afraid.
Anyway, Congrats and Good Luck for the future.

Hi Mr E
Well done! I've got my court date tomorrow morning and am getting the heebie jeebies big time but your posting, apart from making me laugh out loud, has made me feel extremely calm about the whole thing. I'm really worried about losing my car and when I read what the judge said about not being insured and it belonging to the OR was scary reading but phew! not true! Armed with that info I won't fret about that bit of tomorrow.
Hope you kept your wig on!Life may not be the party we hoped forBut while we're here, we should dance.....:jBR Date 19.01.09:hello:0 -

Thanks for the post Mr E, I hope you are enjoying your first weekend without that cloud over your headMoney, money, money. Must be funny, in a rich man's world. :rolleyes:0
