Mistake, what shall I do????

Hi All,

On the 11/12/08 I parked in a bay which I later relised I had to pay ( i was in a rush ) and parked there the previous week and it was free, so between then and the 11/12/08 they had put up a sign stating to pay.

I returned back to my car from work which is about 1 mile walk away, and there was a council parking fine on the window (gutted). The time was detailed as 10:25, and the Enforcement officer observed from 10:20 until 10:25. I rang up the council on the 19/12/08 at 10:35 and paid by debit card ( this is on my bank statement), and today I have received a letter stating I owe £70, for parking in the same place, same date, same enforcement offier number, but the time as 10:09:51.

I know I have paid for it, but it is for a different time.

Shall I ring them up and ask what the heck they are playing at?

EDIT - I was going to ask you to upload the PCN but realise it's been paid already

You say 'letter' ?

What exactly have you received - a 'Notice to Owner' or a postal PCN?

Received the PCN on the 19/12/08 and the NtO today.

Not quite what I meant cos the NtO doesn't relate to the PCN. Presumably the PCN numbers are different?

Gateshead PCNs are largely compliant I believe but need to see the NtO.

It'll be fairly straightforward anyway - can't have two - end of.

the nto and pcn are different numbers, but only by 11, so must have charged some others between the 10:09:51 and 10:20. Surley he/she would have noticed

I'll tell you what else is different - (at a guess) - different CEO numbers?

everything is the same, even the CEO number. The only difference is the time, which is separated by 15mins.

Did you move the car in between?

still need to see the NtO.

never moved the car, was at work, and have proof if they say I moved it.

tell me the information you need from the NtO and I will type it out, as I dont have a scanner.
