Hi,
Looking for some advice for a friend.
He has an acer laptop and has corrupted some windows registry files.
The machine has XP on it. When he puts in the recovery (boot) disk, nothing happens.
Is there something you have to do to get it to work, i mind something about pressing one of the function keys to asccess a menu or something.
Help appreciated.
Thanks,
Marco

Take a look in the BIOS and check the Boot Device Priority: Ist Boot device should be cdrom. If not, try changing it to this:)BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

Go to BIOS, press F2 on boot up until your BIOS comes up
Move the right arrow on keyboard until your in Boot Device Priority
Highlight cdrom and move it up to Ist Boot device (if it's not already there), F6 will move it up the list.
Make sure the disk is in the drive and press F10 then Enter, Laptop will re-boot from the disk.
Job done, i hope0 -
