How do you budget when you're paid weekly?

I get paid weekly and sometimes its 4 other times 5 a month. So its hard to know what I get a month, plus each week it can change slightly due to a little overtime etc.
So was wondering the best way to budget? Should I work by the week and work out what my monthly payments are per week? or the other way round and work out an average figure for monthly salary?
Any tips welcome as I'm just going to start getting tight with things and do a proper budget.

You should budget based on your minimum weekly wage.
I get paid monthly but for expenses such as internet (paid quarterly) and car insurance (annual) I have a separate savings account that has an SO going into it each month on payday. Maybe you could do the same for monthly bills but have a weekly standing order?Kavanne

I always multiply mine by 52 weeks and divide by 12 to get a figure for the month. Then take it from there. You can't keep a good man down...0

Thats how I do it aswell. If you get paid weekly then do it like that every week when you get paid take that amount away and transfer it to your bills account and end of each month your d/d will go out of that account.0
