I'm sure this has been covered somewhere before but I'm in a bit of a hurry. Whilst shopping around for quotes I noticed both 10 month and 12 month deals for yearly insurance quotes. When I asked about the 10 month option I was told that it was so I could claim 1 years no claims early, I of course thought this was a good idea but someone at work has said that once you've agreed than insurer have you by the balls and could increase the amount you have to pay at the end of the year for a new quote.
My colleague also said that I wouldn't be able to take that 10 months no claims to another company, therefor being lumped with whatever I was offered.
Basically is it a good idea to take the 10 month option?
Ta.

That is technically correct. However, some people have managed to get away with it in the past. Others havent.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
