Hello everyone
I started a new car insurance policy with ibuyeco (budget) at the end of september. They took the deposit no problem but a month later i received a letter saying they were unable to take my first months installment, so my policy would be cancelled if i dont pay within 7 days. I phoned them and when they tried to confirm the bank account details i pointed out that they were trying to take payment off a mistro card, which iv never own, so they changed the card type to visa electron and took payment.
A month later, same again. This has gone on every month since september. I receive a letter, phone them, they say they'v taken payment, I receive another letter saying they'v not heard from me, I have to phone up again then they finally take the payment. they've completely cleared my bank details and started again with the detail I gave them and the same problem again.
I am now wondering, if I dont make the payments my policy will be ended, so I could go with another company who wont !!!! around as much, but their saying they will take a fee for ending it early, how will they get the fee if they cant get my monthly installments?
I have written to their head office with a copy of the dirct debit that they set up with my bank yet they still say theres no instruction in place to take the money.
Not happy with ibuyeco!!!!

Same way any other company gets its money off people that owe them! (Requests, legal action, bailiffs etc).
There is always a fee for cancelling a policy early.
Your best bet is a letter of complaint to them detailing all the problems you have told us and asking them to please sort out the problem.0 -
Iv written to them but never heard anything back. The only thing i can think of is trying to pay the remainder off in full, but when i try paying over the phone it usually rejects it, takes a few days of phoning them to finally get 1 month paid.0

If your letter to them was sent more than 8 weeks ago, the Financial Ombudsman Service will be happy to take up the complaint on your behalf.
