Credit card cheques - time to clear?

If I want to use one of the credit card cheques they keep sending me and pay it into my current account, how long do they take to clear? As I understand it they take longer than a typical bank cheque, right?

I heard it was more like 7 to 9 working days, with the 3 to 5 working days for just a standard cheque. Anyone else confirm or deny this?0

Spoke to mbna. They said if you use their cheques, it takes 10 to 14 working days. If you phone them, it takes a maximum of 6 working days.0
