Motoring convictions: Spent or unspent??

Options
Hi all.
I was wondering whether you could help me. My boyfriend is wanting to insure his car but wants to know whether he should enter his motoring convictions. He was done for dangerous driving and no insurance in 2003, he got his license revoked as he had only had it 6 months and wasn't allowed to resit his test for 3 years. He is now 27 and has got his test next week, he wants to know whether there will be any points on his license? Also on sites like gocompare etc when he tries to enter his convictions it won't let him as they say it has to be from 2005. Please help!

Thanks!!

If he was convicted at some point in 2003 and the sentence imposed was only points, disqualification and a fine then the conviction is now spent and does not have to be disclosed to insurers.
