Current Best Deal on Windows XP + media centre query (UK)

Hello there,
I've just bought a brand new PC from a PC builder. I want (well, need) to buy Windows XP Pro for it. I was wondering if anyone knew of some places with the best price, as I'm extremely skint.
My second query is, I've spotted 'Windows XP 2005 media centre'. Is this worth getting, instead of XP Pro? Does it just include a load of annoying microsoft apps which I could do without, or is it worth buying?
I've noticed a couple sellers on ebay from Germany selling genuine xp for about £40, which i think is a good deal. One seller sells XP Pro & 05 media centre for the same price.
Any better deals or advice on xp media centre much appreciated.:)
P.S. I'm glad I finally got round to joining this forum, so hello to all.

I had various problems with Media Centre 2005 mainly codecs...they were a nightmare. Decided to use Vista and Media Centre is excellent. No issues with codecs etc.. Now have a SFF pc hooked up to the tv, even the wife is impressed. Vista will start becoming cheaper is the future due to its replacement Windows 7 which I've also installed ( Beta ) on another pc and I must say its looking very good operating system.
Should you wish to go for vista then I would suggest a OEM version which can be brought from Ebuyer cheap.0
