Shifty, living in edinburgh too and having just spent the last few months doing extensive renovations to my place, I think your best, ie easiest, bet is to follow MR P's advice. Wanttosave's option will also work but with limited DIY skills MR P's would be easier for you. mind by replacing the plasterboard, filling the edges, sanding the edges then wallpapering over the whole wall, it would not only finish it off and hide any roughness, but your land lord/lady would think you were great for redecorating!Debt at worst (2003) = £35,000.00
Debt now (March 2007) = £000000000
Debt free FEBRUARY 2007!
MORTGAGE (APRIL 2006) = £96,000.00 EXTRA TO BE PAID INTO IT STARTING LATER IN 2008, ENJOYING LIFE FOR A WEE WHILE AFTER YEARS OF SAVING0 -
buy a plasterboard saw...(couple of quid)......cut through plasterboard to make whole sqaurish...then i would take a batten (only has to be really thin)...put it into the whole.....then use two plasterboard screws one either side and fix batten to the existing plasterboard on either side of the hole...(so your pulling batten towards you as as you screw into plasterboad and then into batten) then you can screw new plasterboard onto the batten..........then simply decorate....shoukd take 15 mins (except decorating)0
