Does anyone know where I can get a cheap divx player? My ex seems to think you can get one for around £40... He downloads alot of TV shows and to save on space on a dvd he said I should get a divx player so he can fit more onto one disk...
Any ideas?

Just googled and found this one http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/177053/art/chili/dvd-mpeg4-player-dvd-6100.html#
try and google for a divx player then go to a review site to see if its any good . I have a yamada 6600 and 6700 player and they play most formats. Hope this helps.

The yamada 6700 is meant to be one of the best particualrly with the modfied New age V4 firmware but it is hard to source. If you can wait the Yamada Chilli 6800 is due out any day I am hopefully getting on mainly for Digital optical out as my 6700 as coaxial digital out and my amp takes digital optical and dont want a convertor.0

On the yamada forums some said these have them in but out of stock. I woudl wait to get hold of them because not all players are the same some are better than others

Hi poppyc . I have upgraded my firmware but not sure which one it is -any way to find out on the menu?0 -
I just upgraded to the new age v4 firmware, make sure you get the right one its in the site

I am not sure how you can find it tbh. Just burn the image using a cdrw with nero and load it in the player. There are slight risks when updating firmware that something can go wrong, just thought I would warn you, its only minmimal risk.
I have updated several times now and had no problems.
Theres a site for yamada fans

Yes thats what I used. Dont forget to turn the volume up on remote (+) as it is turned off by default, its a once only thing.0

There are lots of threads on the I wanna buy-it or do-it forum regarding DivX, just do a search in that forum for divx or click on this link http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search.html?searchid=2215492 to use the search I ran earlier for divx.
I thought you may like this thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=126534&highlight=divx0 -
