in Credit cards
Hi, i need any really quick advice.
I do understand the legal ways of credit cards etc. But i had checked my credit card statement over the telephone this morning as i do every 2 or 3 days. I was told that my balance was on £0
I have recieved a letter today with my new credit card as the old one expired. All the balance has been transfered over to this without my knowledge, and its a total different card number.
Also, my old card was a VISA and now this new one they have sent is a MASTERCARD.
Could you advice on if this is ok for them to do so?
Thank You

If they've just transferred you over onto another one of their cards with the same benefits and credit limit etc I don't see why theres anything wrong on their part - is it a bit issue for you over mastercard/visa? They're both accepted everywhere these days unless maybe if you travel lots in africa!0

Mastercard is the preferred organisation for credit card companies.
VISA is the preferred choice for Debit cards.
Many credit card companies have recently transferred and many are still doing so. There's nothing wrong in them transferring as long as you are advised which they would have already done so. Halifax can change your terms at anytime with notice. If they have done this as well then you have two choices, accept them or cancel.
For you it means your Mastercard will now be accepted in more places worldwide.0 -

Only because they offered cheap deals to banks if they switch all their customers over. These banks knew they would lose some customers as a result, but did their sums and concluded it was still worthwhile taking the cheaper deal.
Anyone who prefers a Visa card can still apply for one at Barclays, Nationwide, Co-op Bank, Egg, MBNA and various sub-brands of these issuers.
My local ATM takes Visa (handy for PIN change / unlock) but not Mastercard.0
