Which is the best deal-N-power or E-on?!
Hi, I thought I'd got this gas/elec thing sussed when I capped with E-on in Sept 2008, but a nice young man from N-power called round last night, and I must admit I'm tempted to defect to them, even though I'll have to pay to leave E-on! Has anyone got any advice on this??!!! This is the first time I've used this forum, and I'm newly separated :T and coping well with my 2 lovely boys, so I thought I'd give this a try after a good friend of mine recommended it!
Help please!!

How much will you pay to leave? How much will you save (have you checked how much nPower will actually charge, not how much the [STRIKE]sleazeball[/STRIKE]nice young man said you will pay?) (We're not psychic.)
Remember with nPower you pay £8.75 extra each month - you only get this money back at the end of twelve months. Since prices should stay flat or come down you'll be at the mercy of how quickly nPower reacts. Essentially you are switching to another tariff with a leaving penalty - a penalty that accumulates by £8.75 each month you are with them (but gets reset to zero every twelve months.)0 -
Its like estimating a piece of string. You need to consider:
How much you use in electric and gas in kWh on average per year.
Who gives the best price per kWh? What tarriffs suit you? Are you a low user or high user?
Do you pay by direct debit, cheque cash? What are the bonuses the suppliers are offering in payment terms?
Are they offering Duel fuel reductions?
Are there scheme points i.e nectar that add additional bonuses?
Are you eligible for 'hardship' or special tarriffs for low income families?
Figure these out independantly away from a salesman to get a true answer. Also consider the industry is awaiting for prices to go down soon based on current climate last year, so is it worth jumping just quite yet until the industry says yes were droppping prices or nope due to 'other' things."Self trained industry expert who has worked in Electricty Distribution, Electricity & Gas Supply and currently works as an independent consultant in industry processes to particapants in the industry" :eek:0 -

The nice young man is paid on a commission basis. He will tell you whatever you want to hear, and you have no proof that he promised something if it turns out not to be true. Use a price comparison site such as 'switchwithwhich' putting in actual KWH usages for the last year. Factor in the costs of leaving your capped rate, I suspect it will not be worthwhile. Bear in mind many experts believe prices will come down in the next month or so, some suppliers more than others. Sit tight and keep an eye on the situation.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
