Empire (order 50 and pay only 25) But...

  • I've decided to return the Mini Disc without opening it.

Can't be fagged to get involved in any hassle over this one.

Technically I was wrong to try and use the codes (although I did not know at the time they were only applicable to full price items)

I am a little uncomfortable with adopting an agressive stance over each and every one of these issues when they arise and prefer to adopt a lassai-faire attitude (sp?)

Having heard about Empire and how they operate, none of this surprises me really.

I'd just rather send the stuff back this time though too.

Just had a quick look at my account.

Looks like they've lumped all the orders together, and only taken the £25 off one item.

Fair enough I suppose, if it's a one-time use code only, but strictly speaking the system should not allow you to use it multiple times.

Guess what item won't be going back? lol.

I recieved order confirmation with the 30% discount included an now recieved a payment email without the discount taken off! I am going to ring them about this but what should I say, have I got a leg to stand on?

I'm not sure about legs :D

in their terms and conditions it makes it quite clear that the discounts only apply to full priced items

however - having e-mailed one total and deducted another then you may have a case if you want to make a song and dance about it (assuming you still have legs to dance with as well as stand on ;))
  • Hi all

I told my sister about this deal when I saw it on Sunday. She phoned and ordered a Phillips DVD Re-writer, quoted the 30% discount code and paid by CC. Item arrived this morning and they had included the discount. Therefore she got a £599 dvd re-writer for £116.00 - lucky thing.

She also got the jacket - she says its awful - but hey its free!

Keeping our fingers crossed that we get the digital camera we ordered - but won't be too upset if we don't.

Very lucky to get one of them although don't believe the stupidly high 'was price'. If it was the dvd-r610 then they retail at £180 - £190 not £599 ::). £116 is an amazing price though ;)

at least you can take some pleasure that they've wasted about a tenner on the courier to you and back!
  • I was amazed to recieve my order today! Fair enough two items were out of stock, but I was happy to recieve (sp?) anything at all!

I was not a previous customer, so the '10 - 14 days for new customers' is obviously a load of nonsense (when using a credit or debit card).

I got a Lonsdale watch, a lilac towelling robe, and a delux sea monkeys set for a grand total of ... £4.49.

I had used the £25 of a £50 spend code (which I believe as a new customer I was entitled to use ???) and they have deducted the £25 from the three items which were IN stock.

    Hope everyone is as lucky!

Great news, Hushy, and it shows there's hope for everyone else, too.

    Nice price you paid!!
