I bought a dvd from hmv last week, went to watch it a few days later and they hadnt taken off the security device!
its one of the plastic ones that goes right the way through the dvd. its a blue ray dvd, 2 disks. we managed to prise it open but there is no way of removing the disk without snapping it. is there anything i can do other than go back to the shop?

Why not just go back to the shop with the receipt and they will have no problem removing it.. I am sure it happens all the time..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I can't quite picture a security device that goes through the box, but surely a small hacksaw blade (or something similar) would cut the plastic...?0

If you have the receipt I'd have thought any branch of HMV would be able to remove it for you.

superglue a bolt as big as possible to it , anything you can grip really , to the tab and pull.Have you tried turning it off and on again?0

They are usually magnetic, put a magnet on the end and see if that releases the catch inside.0

You can visit your local HMV store with original receipt.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

Didn't the alarm sound when you walked out the shop? or were you running
