Thanks OP. I ordered the Lowry journal and Silly Moo Tea Towels. £2.97 with the voucher.frankcarruk wrote: »I think the owners of the site would be doing themself a favour if they invested in a better looking site, the current one looks like an amateur has done it and I think it may put some folk off ordering from it.
I agree I was not going to order as the site looks like something I could've knocked up in a day. The only reason I went ahead with the order is because other forum members have received their items.0 -
I've used them before & they were actually quite good, especially on their customer service side, though I recall the original delivery was much slower than their website quoted. I think it said 4-5 days & it took a good couple of weeks to arrive.
I'd ordered a "bargain" personal dvd player for hubbys b'day & the first one arrived damaged (it was damaged before it had been packaged, not in transit). I contacted them, because it was for a present & I needed it urgently by this point & I was worried it would go out of stock in the meantime. Their policy is not to send a replacement until the original one arrives back with them, but as with all catalogue-style companies, it can take them weeks to acknowledge they have recieved it, so when I asked, they very nicely agreed to send out a replacement straight away, so that I wouldn't miss out & it arrived a couple of days later.
I then had to send the first one back - the only word of warning is that they do not pay for returns unless the goods are faulty!! I paid £10.99 to send it special delivery (due to the cost & weight of the item) so that I could track its delivery, but Royal Mail messed up & it didn't go tracked - when I spoke to RM, they blamed the local post office & said that they must have put it in the wrong pile!! So, 3 weeks later & Buy It Here didn't have any trace of receiving it & I could only confirm that I had sent it, but RM had no trace of even collecting it. When I explained to Buy It Here what had happened, not only did they confirm that they did not charge me for the replacement (I had feared that they would charge me twice, then refund me on receipt of the damaged item) but they refunded me the £10.99 postage, cos the original item was damaged, so the return was at their cost, even though they did not actually recieve it back!! I was really impressed by this!
I would use them again, although they did let me down with some items, which they couldn't supply as they had gone OOS.Everything I wanna do is either illegal, immoral or fattening! lol :rotfl:0 -
I couldn't resist a couple of the CD's and a few other things!

Isn't that site just selling everything that is sold in those £1 / 99p shops?
Think I'll give that one a miss.0 -
Needn't have posted then really eh??
Think I'll give that one a miss.

We don't have many pound shops near me, Au Naturale and Home Bargains don't come down this far South, and we don't have a Wilkinsons near here either..............so I personally welcome sites that might sell things similar to these places, and who deliver so I don't have to trudge around shops :THonorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. The site is good, have ordered before and got a mammoth box of good wrapping (xmas) paper for 99p (I mean enough to last me for about 25 years!!!) and some other things which i was impressed with. True, their delivery took a little longer than expected and some bits were OOS, but they refunded the money straight away so i, personally dont have an issue with that. Have resisted the temptation to look again today as I treat myself to a coin sorter and cushtie pillow from the gadget shop sale last week. LOL. :T:T:T:TOne by one the penguins steal my sanity.0
