This site needs to get rid of the 'dead wood' posters, there are huge numbers of members that have posted a few times then never been heard from again.
Yes they help boost the numbers but surely if they have not posted in over 2 years it is unlikely that they are suddenly going to become regular users.
Maybe deleting very old threads in the arms and DT? I know that occasionally users resurrect the odd one, but what about all the congrats and happy birthday threads that are 2 or more years old, and various odd ones that were on a particular topic of the day? Yes there would be a loss of postcount for many users but if it's for the good of the forum I'd vote yes.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Yes agree with that but I am also advocating removing the actual members that no longer contribute to the site. They have maybe joined, posted once and never come back.
I dont know how much server space their details would take up but it would be something else to look at.0 -

Just because someone doesn't post doesn't mean they're not using the site. They may simply read the articles and the forums without feeling the need to post. Of course they could do that without being registered, but then they wouldn't be able to subscribe to threads or set their preferences for how they view the boards.
Now deleting users who've not logged on the last two years - maybe.
