No Sound

Has to be something simple.

Using media player 10 to play a dvd but I don't get any sound, when I play a cd on the same drive through media player 10, I get sound

Any ideas

Um er you mean a CD works, But a DVD doesnt on Media Player 10
you get no sound on a DVD..?

Have you got any DVD software installed.. Is it no sound only?

yes, no sound, I can get the picture, subtitles, the lot (well apart from the sound of course)
The same applies with my dvdrw/cdrw drive

Speakers on, Speakers in correct hole ? All connected properly?
Volume up? Muted (left click speaker icon near PC clock)

Must be if the cd plays ok or is there something that I don't know?

just downloaded and installed a codec3 and hooray, it works.

Yep a corrupt or missing codec will do yer head in.... well done :T :T :T
