    That was completely different because the Icelandic banks were bigger than Iceland's economy

    the Irish banks are bigger than the Irish economy - the same is true for the UK (and Switzerland, and the US, and Japan and....)

    the difference is that yesterday they were only guaranteed for less than 2 years.
