  • Gosh, debt free date is so far away it's lost in space. But man has been on the moon, so it's possible to get there :) (clinging on to the thought of that day like a lifeline). I think I would save for one those spa packages, have the pampering of a lifetime, the full works, baby!! I jolly well need it, the way I'm looking now through all the stress, I might as well go and deed poll me name to Alice Cooper!
    Also treat the other half to something he really wanted (after saving up for it of course) just to show him how much I appreciate him. :j

    Have been thinking, although still in debt and my Debt free date at the moment is 2012, what you you be doing on 'that date' or your first pay check with out a debt payment? (not mortgage but that's another party!)

    Would you go back and do it again? :confused:

    Me 'no thanks'

  • Hi,

    I'm gonna start 'spreading the news' - trip to New York to save for in 2010, its my dream to go there and spend hard earned money I have saved and not borrowed!

    SS x
    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83
  • scottishspendaholic - what a great incentive, I'm sure you'll do it, 2010 will be here before you know it!

    No 1 priority for me when I'm debt-free will be to move house, its the only thing that keeps me going!

    No 2 is to get a car again, really missing the old one at the mo.

    Will probably have to get some new furniture too as mines on its last legs.

    But I'm NEVER going to buy on credit again :j

    When I become debt free I am going to save all the money that would normally go on debt and watch it acumulate in ahigh interest account.

    Never going back to credit.....I save up for what I want these days. :D

    When I'm debt free - sometime in the future (down as 2016 at moment but will fight that down) then I'm going to save up a few thousand pounds and go travelling to all the places I've wanted to see for a long time.

    That way, I''ll get to see the things I want to before I settle down and start a family and I wont have to do it whilst worrying about debts when I return.

    I kick myself when I think of all this time I could have been fighting my debts and I just let them sit there, while I spend on silly little things.

    But now the battle has begun!!

    I would sign up to do the psychology degree that i have always wanted to do ... shame im going to be too flippin old to then do what i want to do with it once I graduate!!
    :EasterBun ...what more do I need to say?!
    its all in the name of medical science.
  • I reckon that by the time I'm debt free the money I'm paying the debts off with will be needed for increased council tax, electricity, gas and diesel etc etc :-(
    ..but at least I will be able to pay them :-)
