Hi,
I have been stung by the buy now pay next year loan from Creation Financial Services. I forgot to pay before 10th January and am now facing interest rate of 34.9% WITH PAYMENTS SPREAD OVER 4YRS. I have the money and can pay off my loan.
What can i do?
Please help.
Hope somebody can give me advice on how to go out of this tricky position i have got myself into due to my own stupidity. Is there any way out of this agreement?
Hope to hear from anyone with past experiences or knowlege in this matter.

Hi,
I have also been stung by this group, but I sent cheque well in advance but they claimed they never received till 10 days later because of Christmas post.
This was january 06, they cashed cheque for original ammount of 363 gbp, then I heard nothing, so I assumed it was finished with, until november 2008 when I receivedphone call and letter claiming I owe them another 565 gbp. they do not want to talk about money or costs, but how will I pay the money.
anyone out there with some advice, I am going to wait until they send me to county court to fight my case, as I am sure they cannot cash cheque and ignore you for 2 years.
Also Hope to hear from anyone with past experiences or knowlege in this matter, or any tips to rtop them getting away with daylight robbery.0 -
I have bad news for both of you.
If you cannot prove that the cheque was received before the cut off date then you will have to pay.
If you were late in paying you will have to pay.0 -

Why do you say you have been scammed???
Didn't you sign up to the loan stating that if you didn't pay by 10 Jan you would pay 34.9% over 4yrs???0 -
I was telephoned at home (16/9/9) by a determined young lady who told me she was from Creation Financial Services as if it was a well known national company like one of the well known banks or stores, and she was obviously reading from a script "about your store card".
She refused to tell me which card(I tend never to use store cards anyway) until I had confirmed this, that and the other and could not even tell me which card until I complied with all this "due to the data protection acts" etc.
I pointed out that she was not getting any information until she had complied with my personal 'data protection against scams etc. act of 2009', which seemed to throw her a bit.
She then began to lecture me on D. P. Act law, and I had to interrupt her with the fact that I served in the police for 30 years and was familiar to some extent with the law.
However she continued reading the script -they don't give up easily- until I lost my temper and told her I was terminating the conversation as she was boring me to death.0 -
You were getting free credit but you didn't pay them when you should have, is this correct?
If so it's not a scam, they were sticking to their side of the agreement but you didn't stick to yours.0 -

Yes it is an old thread but there is some good news on the original post.
In January 2009 the Financial Ombudsman Service reported a similar case to this.
Apparently, the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) has a Lending Code which requires its members to write and tell borrowers the interest free period is ending and remind them of their options.
In that case, the lender said the code did not apply to it as it was not a member of the FLA but the Ombudsman upheld the complaint anyway.
This is case study 75/05 in Ombudsman News for those interested.0 -
in 2005 i brought a car from carcraft which went to £5,000 more or less but the point is a paid every penny and have docoments to prove it. heres the BUT, they recently sent me a letter trying to make me pay £1,000 in intrest or a settlement of £2,500. i was fuming, they said all i paided was the cars price which is all i should pay, 4 years they waited until the bill added up. I sorted it out though i rang citzens advice and watchdog and even creations which sent me the bill. i spoke to the big heads at the top. and they have just sent me a letter saying they are going wave the debt.
watchdog also have alot of stuff on them about them sending out false letters to people with the same name of the actual offender.
i know its all abit confusing but in a nutshell they are cons and will do anything to the money all you need to do is FIGHT IT OUT with them and they will go, DONT leave it to disappear as it will only get worse if it ever went to court. if you know its not you get proof and sort it ,there many people out there that can help and back you up. good luck:T0 -
