Hello all,
I recieved a phone call last Sep about a potential offer for a BT. The offer was from mint.
I took them up on there offer over the phone and I thought all was sorted. I then recieved a letter saying that I had missed the first payment and was charged for this matter. I phoned them and explained that I had not recieved the statment which is true and paid three times the required payment over the phone there and then.
I since have found out that they have closed my account and they are just waiting for me to clear the balance. I have not been set a time but obviously the quicker the better.
Are they allowed to do this?
They have messed me around since I completed the transfer and if I knew that the account was going to be closed then I would not have done the BT in the first place.

Yes they are allowed to do this. Seems odd though that they would do this for just one missed payment. Have you missed or been late with other payments? Its all a result of the credit crunch/recession probably.0

I understand that they can stop the account but they phoned me and asked me to balance transfer just before they did it. That's not fair.:oCurrent Debt £38,000:o

They have sent a reply to my letter which they have agreed that the address was changed on the 6 September 2008 and then also shown me a copy of the statement that they still say was sent to my current address.
I did not receive the statement and thats for sure and what's better is I now have a copy of a letter going to the old address 6 days after the address was changed.
Now what can I do?:oCurrent Debt £38,000:o

What they have now done is admit that the original offer was the call operators mistake and have printed a copy of the call. They have opted to offer me a 0% interest till the end of the original deal:oCurrent Debt £38,000:o
