HBOS coming to visit!!! OMG!

:eek: Have had a card in the post today from HBOS to say that they are sending "a representative to my property' on 27th January.

Should I ring them to say 'dont bother' or just ignore it and tell the kids to hide too!

Help, thats got me worrying again

sorry, didnt mean to sound flippant but these kinds of tricks annoy me.

They cant enter your property or harass you, they arent the police or bailiffs.

They can send the Queen of Sheba if they like, it doesn't mean you have to let her in!

They often send these cards to panic you into contacting them, it's unlikely they'll turn up, but if they do they have no rights whatsoever, and you do not have to even open the door to them. If you do open the door tell them to go away, they cannot force their way in.

Pffft, I have a wedge of these "Calling Cards" and nobody has ever been round my place. Nothing to worry about. As said above, scare tactics.

I'm not sure that this is the same as the Aegis (MBNA) card as the OP said the HBOS card said they were sending a representative to the property whereas the Aegis one said they would be calling.

Anyway, it doesn't matter as long as they are not let in the house as once you let them in, they can enter at any point in the future.

thanks guys, when i opened it i suddenly thought perhaps i should have contacted them but now i know not to. hopefully it'll be during the day when im at work.

Surely that only applies to registered bailiffs and not just someone turning up for a chat.

Ive just dug the card out and it says ' Our representative will be calling at your home on: Date: and there is a half legible stamp with the date of 27th Jan 2009. round the edge of the stamp it says ' halifax plc' in smaller letters underneath there is ' retail bank collections' well i think it says that as is stamped over the next line which gives the number to ring if the date is not convenient.
