LL's have to inform their tenants of how everything works in the property. And they also should leave detailed instructions for reference. When I let a property, I have a booklet I have made up, of how everything works, including how to start and get the best out of a wood burner! Having said that, I expect them to deal with normal daily wear and tear, like replacing a light bulb or upkeeping the place to what they first took on.

...In my university halls there were issues with some students nearly burning kitchens down due to putting metal in the microwave.
Agree that instructions folders should be left as general thing (helps safeguard equipment, tenant & LL) but if someone is off to Uni at 18 and mummy hasn't yet told him/her not to put metal things in a microwave, then there must be so many other scary "facts of life" awaiting discovery.....:rotfl: It's highly likely that those students were fully aware and the resultant fireworks simply brightened another dull day in the lives of a couple of "meeja studies" students.0
