Bashed neeps and haggis

We just had a fabulous Burns' Supper. Haggis, neeps and tatties, followed by cranachan. To the sounds of ceilidh music, too!
What my English friends call a swede, I call a turnip - and that's what I mashed up tonight.Lightbulb moment: 2nd January 2006

Turnip is smaller and has a more sharper kind of taste. Swede is nicer and has a better flavour, I think anyway. Nice with butter and some carrot put through. We had a Burns supper tonight too. Loads left too. Kids liked it too. :-)“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

According to the Great Haggis Hunt in the Scotland Board, Lidl haggis comes out well at 44p

I know, but the Lidl up here today was closed on Burns' night for a refurb so I couldn't get any. :-( Managed to get some at my local butchers and it was very good too. Not quite 44p a haggis, but I did manage 5% off. :-)“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0
