Big Asda Price Increases.........

All of the basics/smartpirce/value produce have become more popular. Therefore the supermarkets are loosing out on money from customers buying own or branded products. I think that they have put up these prices to make up for the shortfall.
maybe?Looking forward to the future.0 -
Nope they are there to make as much money as they can where possible and if that means using dirt tricks they will like price drops/increases. Making out that certain item is more expensive else where like Tescos where today with Sainsburys but know doubt ite could be cheaper in other places but they conveniently dont want to mention this
Also I am not convinced that budget label are all they are cracked up to be. Why would some one sell a item cheaper with a plain label when they can get more, of course the quality may be reduced
I also noticed BOGOF are disappearing0 -
I'm not saying that they dont use other tricks, but it seems a bit of a coincidence that budget labels have increased in price along with the popularity of budget labels.
Budget label products are becoming fewer because they can no longer really be classed as budget - hence new 'discounter' ranges etc.Looking forward to the future.0 -
Ive been buying Asda SP lightly salted tortilla chips for ages they have been sold as 18p reduced to 17p - bought same tortillas this week but noticed not only has the bag changed from white to see thru but also they are marked as 88p reduced to 57p - pretty big price hike - however they are still alot cheaper than branded tortillas and are just as nice
Generally all SP Asda produce I have bought has been fine but the prices do suddenly increase now and again so do watch out!0 -
The speed at which the prices increase always amazes me, I bought five packets of yoghurt raisins for my kids for 50p and the next day, less than 12 hours or so later they were 75p, this is in Asda by the way. Also Kitekat cat food was £2.29 for six tins on Sunday, it's now £2.98. Maybe I'm just unlucky but all the things I buy seem to increase extortionately in price, a few pence I can understand but just shy of 60p in two days is taking the proverbial. They weren't special or limited offers either. I wonder if they do it so they can claim roll back a little later.:A :
