Changing payment from minimum to full balance

I've come to the end of my stoozing period (1 Feb) and want to pay the balance off by the end of the month. I've already paid off 4K since my last statement. My direct debit for the minimum payment is due out 30th Jan. As I want to pay it off completely I want to change the DD from minimum to full balance. But my OH reckons that they'll take the full balance of the last statement not the actual balance as it stands now. Is that correct?!

I don't know the answer, but can you ask them to take a specific amount by DD rather than the balance?

Cancel the direct debit and pay by standing order.one-off payment. I've just cleared my card as the interest free period was ending. I paid online through my bank account as Barclaycard would only take £3k over the phone

The simplest way to do this, is to take the full amount and subtrate the minimum payment (both on your latest statement), and then pay that figure off manually. Then the direct debit will also be credited to your account too - making up the full amount.

For example: You owe £1000, and the minmum payment due by direct debit on the 30th is £25. You pay £975 by debit card, and then the direct debit will take the £25.

Although, I guess you also need to decide what you're gonna do with the card after the offer, and how you're gonna manage repayment if you go on to use this card afterwards.
