USB flash drive shown as hard drive

Hi,
Has anyone had the problem where a USB flash drive has been listed in Windows XP as a hard drive rather than a removable drive? It still works but you get strange messages about disk capacity increasing/decreasing and warnings when it gets too full.
It's a Crucial Gizmo if that makes any difference.
I just thought I'd ask if there's a quick solution before I start fiddling around with it.
