Motor Insurance Question - Write off after 3 months in Garage.

Hi All,
Please advise on the following if you can.
My bike was damaged in a fault accident in June, the insurer's repairer collected it, assesed it and quoted approximately 2 weeks for repair.
3 months later of 'We are waiting for delivery for a part' they finally got around to fixing it and discovered that it is bent and is a write off.
As soon as they wrote it off and sent me the cheque I cancelled the policy.
My question is, can I claim the 3 months worth of premium back? It's unfair that I should have to pay whilst I don't have the bike, and also that they quoted 14 days and it took 3 months.
They also, surprise surprise want £60 to cancel the policy!
Many thanks!

Once you've made a claim you cannot get any refund on that year's premium.0

Thanks Quentin, what about compensation for the length of time it took to fix?0

A well worded letter of complaint ending with a request for some compensation won't cost you much, and you never know!0
