We have just purchased an external A drive to read floppy disks. Most files are Lotus Ami Pro and 123. Can't open them because this PC has Open Office. We have the original floppy disks to install Lotus Ami Pro but I don't know how to do this. Any ideas. Thanks.

Maybe some lateral thinking required. You want to read some AmiPro documents and save them as Open Office docs, yes?
Google came up with half a possible solution. It allows AmiPro documents to be opened on MS Word. Maybe that helps?
Download the Amipro to Word converter from here:
http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm
Unzip it and install the file ami332.csv in the folder \Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\TextConv
You'll be able to see your amipro files when you try to open a file in
Word. You'll get a warning message thast you're opening a non-word
file, but then it opens up just fine.0 -
Alternatively, there are two books on ebay at the moment which may help you with the AmiPro install.0

Thank you Keith for your quick reply. I will have a go at this.
