Screwed up on Section 7.1 of the on line SOA

Hi All,

I submmitted and printed off my on-line SOA last night. Looking at it, I've screwed up. What I've done is:
Other essential payments (e.g. life/household insurance, car tax & repairs): Here a put a single figure down for car Tax, MOT, Insurance and car maintenance/repairs.

If there are other essential payments, provide details of these payments: Here I've put down figures for such things as additional child costs, holiday fund, mobile, haircut, TV, etc.
Now, having printed the document out, I obviously realise that I should have put down a single figure for all of the above in the "Other essential payments (e.g. life/household insurance, car tax & repairs)" Section and then given a breakdown in the "If there are other essential payments, provide details of these payments" Section. Argghhh.

B*llocks. I'll get the tipex out and inform the OR person I speak to in court tomorrow that I've made corrections and that the on-line version is "wrong". Should I be OK with this???

    Mr E,
Rather than tip-ex I would just cross through the total figure and put the correct total. If there is room in the box add the breakdown of the other essential outgoings that you have omitted. If not, put them on one of the blank pages that you have got for other information at the end. Initial any corrections that you make and make sure the clerk can make sense of it all when they check as they are the "eyes of the judge" so to speak.

    I agree lisa,
There are a couple of bits on the online forms that could do with a bit of tweaking to make them a bit more user friendly, I thought...
And when they print out reformulated - thats just daft, you should be able to see on screen exactly what they are going to look like.

I still can't get my head round the bit where I entered my car details under the plant and machinery section, under assets, and then it printed out as motor cars........ huh?

  • Hi

I did exactly the same on my forms. I just added the figure in pen, crossed out the total and wrote in the new total. No-one even commented.

    Don't worry.

Do you think that if enough people make the same error they might consider changing the forms?

No, thought not - that would make too much sense, wouldn't it? LOL

  • theres abit when you have to add a previous car if youve sold it in the last 12mths. well i added a previous car and when the forms come out it looked on the forms like i had 2 cars as it went down under assets. so when i had my interview he asked me about my other car??

but im glad it wasnt just me that got confused on the forms

I'm glad I screwed up last night. I was thinking of leaving it till the last minute in case I wanted to do some final tweaking..... However, over chrimbo/new year I read that the insolvency site was down for a few a days and I didn't want to risk it happening for me.

A lesson to be learned for others getting close to court dates.... don't leave submitting and printing the on-line SOA till the last minute...

Might it be a good idea to start a new thread "Gotchas when filling out the on-line SOA"? I'm a just a newbie here, any of you "old timers" think it might be a good idea? Something to be "bummed", sorry "bumped", occassionally?
