Thanks Bella I'll try that one night next week (not that I've ever cooked a normal lasagne either but there is a first time for everything!). :)

    easy

    tomake the mince 1

    1 1/2lb of lean mince
    1 onion
    tin chopped toms
    1tsp of tom paste
    1 clove garlic(optinal)
1/4 pint of hotwater with a oxo

    for the cheese sauce
    1tbs plain flour 1tbs butter/marg
    1/2 pint full fat milk
    4oz strong cheese +1oz extra
    salt+pepper,

    pasta sheets

in a pan sweat onions and garlic till see through
add mince cook till just brown,

add toms and paste and the stock,
bring to the boil to reduce to a nice thick sauce 5 to 10 mins,

in the meantime make the sauce
    in large pan
melt on a low heat then add flour, very slowly using a wooden spoon so no lumps,
slowly add milk then bring up the heat add cheese and stir over a mediam heat for 3/4 mins,

    leave to cool,
get a sq ovenproof deep dish,
put a layer of mince on bottom the add sheets of pasta over that add some cheese sauce, then repeat again making sure you finish with the cheese sauce on top sprinkle on remaining cheese then stick in a oven on 180 for 30/40 mins till brown and yummy on top

the veg one is almost the same but you use veg insted and dont use the toms
and the oxo as the veg soup powder and the will bind with the veg to make a nice sauce

can also do a medatrainion one with tuna and a white sauce

Thanks so much Bella! :):):) I've printed that recipe out and it's on the 'menu' for next week!

Right, I'm fed and I'm here with a drink and some bar snacks (dry roasted peanuts and salted cashews)... what's everyone having?
