Tried this morning but he is out on a course. Waiting for a call from him when he gets back.

I will mention to him how worried the wee one is. He adores school and I don't want him to be upset about going. He's a propper little emotional soul.

omg see the head about it, that is not on, we expect the school/clubs etc to keep our kids safe while we are not there, how could the teacher say that, i would also be having words with teacher, that isnt on at all!

hope you get something sorted, hugs xx

happy anniversary gert, hope the day goes well:T
  • Morning everyone! :D

Ktflosspot - please don't be out off from making a fuss with the Head - better to have your ds upset than something worse happening.
At least it will get sorted for next time.

I had to speak to Tom's headmistress the other day cos I found out the school had a practice fire drill, but they timed it so that it was in the middle of tom's PE session.
The class of 5yr olds had to then walk across the playground in shorts & T-shirts & without any footwear on, then stand for 10 minutes in the freeing cold whilst the register was checked!!!!

DS struggles with his asthma at the best of times, so any cold on his chest is just a nightmare!!
I told the Head it wasn't acceptable at this time of year - especially as it wasn't even a real fire drill!

I don't know what these people are thinking sometimes - which makes things very scary when you trust your most cherished possession with them!
The Rock Chick, she say 'courtesy costs nowt' - spread the word! :D

RCB We had the same thing happen last year..the school is a small village school and they had the painters in and they were setting the fire alarms off and DS was in reception and they were in the middle of PE and all chnildren were outside and we got there a bit early and DS son was in shorts and vest and no socks on crying and really cold..The school should no better in the cold and especially as the alarms had gone twich already that day because of the painters...

No parcels about at all today... did just get one from RCB which was a prize draw entry (thank you :):):):)) but that's it so can't return it!

RCB & Krailton That must have been awful for the wee ones. Especially with no shoes. The teacher wouldn't have been happy if it was one of their own children.

The head at ds school usually ok if there's a problem but ds teacher is a dragon. She is very old school and is permenantly attached to her red pen !!
We have had a few run ins in the past. If head hasn't phoned by 2 I will ring the school back. NO ONE messes with a mini flosspot !!!

Only get prize draw entries myself, it will fizzle out soon!

  • Good morning all.

Sending big comforting hugs for those who need them. I'm off ill today too - damn the men in this house who spread their germs grrrrrrrrrr. Good news is my dad's a little better - there may be hope after all.

DS is coughing and spluttering all over the place (he's got man flu, I've got a cold!)

Chris - hope the hang over isn't too bad lol.

Gert - congrats on your anniversary, have a good evening with OH

Melvis/Velvetglove - get well soon (that goes for everyone else suffering atm)

ktflosspot - good luck with the school, it's terrible what they did. Stay calm when you speak to the head though, much more effective that way. (Red pens aren't PC these days - considered too negative!)

    Have a good day folks

ktflosspot - I would seriously be annoyed!! Just as has been said before - they have a duty of care to look after the little ones if they are in an afterschool club etc.
