This is almost a new concept. Only TR Property Trust has any global presence, other Trusts and Funds have practically no overseas investments whatsoever. However, its not the price of property thats important, (UK is one of the most expensive places wordwide) its the rate at which its price is increasing, and the demand that determines the investment potential.

Being free of the obsession with UK property might mean that there this is a more exciting punt than a UK fund.

As my style of investing involves backing winners, think I'll wait and see which way and how fast the graph is going. Thanks for pointing it out.
Survivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms. Comfortably retired after learning to back my own judgement.
This is not advice - hopefully it's common sense..

No problem. Im almost the complete opposite of you and like to get in at the begining. My holdings in the Fidelity China and India funds have done well since launch.

I might be slightly blinkered, my problem is I met a man a few years ago that put £10k in Fidelity Special Sits in 1979- ill let you do the maths!

I'm totally with it. I too like getting into funds in the early days. Doesn't always work to begin with (Jupiter monthly income being one that comes to mind -although had a good sprint recently) but stick with a top fund house, like fidelity, and you have a good chance of it coming right over the long term.

I just got a phone call from a client 30 minutes ago saying he is popping in to see me lunchtime tomorrow to give another 50k and wants it in overseas property. I am now spending the next few hours tonight and most of the morning deciding whether to go with this one or perhaps a look a couple of the others. Not that there is a big choice right now and you cant do much mixing and matching on the same platform or wrapper.
