I bought my dd (6) a pair of pink snow boots from my local Tesco about 10/11 th Dec, i noticed on monday that some of the stitching has come undone and a little of the foam padding is now showing.
I took them back to Tesco this morning and the clothes supervisor was unwilling to exchange them, she said that it is wear and tear
and as they are dirty she could tell my dd had been wearing them.
Of course my dd has been wearing them, thats what they got bought for but i thought they would have withstood being worn. The supervisor pointed out that it looks like my dd might even have fallen over in them which has caused the material to rip and on this occasion she was unwilling to replace them.
What the hell?
I dont normally shop in Tesco, but thought i'd give them a try.
Wont make that mistake again.

Sounds like the assistant was pretty offhand - I hate it when they are like that and Tesco is one of the worst offenders among Supermarkets for a lack of Customer Service. Shoes & boots should last more than 4 weeks without the stitching coming away (kids boots should be particularly sturdy IMHO).
I would phone up Tesco Customer Service Centre in Dundee and tell them about your problem - I think they will help and may contact the Store to raise the issue of the rude assistant. Here's the number:

Update:
i rang cs on the above number, explained to the cs advisor the situation, she rang the store involved and spoke with the clothing supervisor/team leader that served me, she was still adamant that the boots are not faulty but have suffered from general wear and tear. The cs advisor went on to say that they cannont make the store replace or give a refund but on this occasion she would be happy to send me a £10 gift card as a gesture of goodwill.
So thank you coupon mad for the phone number and thanks to the cs advisor that i spoke to earlier.
