concealed door closer

does anyone know if using a concealed door closer on the firedoors in my flat would stop them slamming shut completely?

Thanks

even a concealed door closer does just that, closes the door.
if the problem is slamming then yours probably needs adjusting to retain the force required but without slamming.
Perco concealed door closers are good commercial quality, but can be noisy if the 'chain' operated units are used (they click as each link passes over the strike plate)
I am a building surveyor and will provide advice based upon what you tell me. It is just that, advice and not instructions. Based on the fact you're getting it for free expect it to be vague! :D

thanks for the info. i haven't got any yet i wanted to make sure they would do what i wanted. at the moment i have door wedges and those form door slammers i want something permanent.

by the way is it one per door?

    thanks again.
  • HI the door has to close fully from any position, if you have a small room becarefull when fitting these ie if the windows are closed ,and it is adjusted to close without slamming , when window is open it will slam hard
  • you can now get hinges with built in closer mechanism
if you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction
