i got the same email and just ignored it0

I got another one! After making a payment. There are no links in the text and checking the headers makes me think it IS from Paypal."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Unless it addresses you with your full name Dear (Jack Bauer), it is Genuine
if it say dear paypal memeber or dear customer it is spoof0 -
I have received two emails from 'Paypal' straight after I have paid for something over the past few days, saying that I have successfully added a new address....strange as I haven't!!!0

I'm sure that it's a paypal mistake. I've bought six things this week and got this email every time that I made a payment. I just deleted them, it's quite irritating though.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

The annoying thing is i sent the email to spoof@paypal.com and got a reply back hrs later saying it was not sent by paypal when clearly it was !
It hardly inspires confidence in their system :eek:0 -

Here is the text of the message sent seemingly from services@paypal.com.
It has lost all its formatting - If I can find out how to paste the original message in - I will but it certainly looks genuine.
The click here to activate url address was hidden below a graphic/html code ... I have pasted it in ( via right mouse click and copy shortcut not just a copy). As I say in the title - I do NOT have a paypal account

**** The following was in the second column of the message - all good advice *****
Protect Your Account Info
Make sure you never provide your password to fraudulent websites.
To safely and securely access the PayPal website or your account, open a new web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Netscape) and type in the PayPal URL (https://www.paypal.com/us/) to be sure you are on the real PayPal site.
PayPal will never ask you to enter your password in an email.
For more information on protecting yourself from fraud, please review our Security Tips at https://www.paypal.com/us/securitytips
Protect Your Password
You should never give your PayPal password to anyone, including PayPal employees.
So even though the message gives genuine url addresses for the paypal site and "sound" advice not to give your password to anyone - it has hidden url's to non https ( the S is for secure - look for the little yellow padlock in your status bar ) and non Paypal.com site
Nostromo I got 2 of these emails last night after winning and paying for an auction.I think this is a paypal balls up as it lists your name and address in the email how would anyone else obtain these details and why recieve them straight after an auction.
I also do not use Ebay, so cannot say if your email addresses are shown in your ebay account/rep listings - but if they are, no doubt it would be best crook practise to phish-email active ebayers/paypal'ers aka closed auctions buyers - on the assumption that the ebay email address is the same as the paypal email account. Getting 2 emails would indicate 2 gangs phishing closed auction buyers !
As per earlier advice never click on links sent in emails - ironically even this email states that.
I know I can get cashback for joining ebay via Quidco :j .. does anyone know if there is a cashback payment for joining paypal :money: ?Rich people save then spend.
Poor people spend then save what's left.0 -
Its obviously a spoof, I get plenty of these, they always ask you to follow a link in the email. Don't. Forward it to spoof@paypal.comBlessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0
