If I were in your shoes, I'd probably just pay the minimum on the 0% card until the offer runs out. Put the rest that you were paying into the savings account, and all extra that you have into the savings account too. It could also be worth putting some of your interest free overdraft into savings too. I'd be loath to suggest the whole lot unless you're definitely sure you won't get into difficulties that way (I know I would see!). You're doing it pretty well as it stands, by the sound of it!

BTW, if you're happy living at home then I'd stick it for as long as you can. If you're not, do consider renting; and bear in mind you may not need to run your car if you rent close to where you work, thereby saving more money to put towards rent.
  • Thanks for all of the great advice, I'll get my credit card changed to paying the min amount and then pay it all off in one go when the time comes (must make a note of that date)

The 0% overdraft goes down £500 again in August and I'm a little wary about sticking all of that overdraft in to a savings account, I prefer to think of my account in the black all the time, i know it is really cause the money is just in my savings I think it's just a mind thing :)

Now I'm not paying over my income I'll do what was suggest and I'll set up a standing order to put money into a savings account, that way I'll not be tempted to spend more than I can (that was my previous problem, overdraft was there so I used it like my own cash ) It looks like ING is the savings account most of you suggest so I'll open that account and move my savings there, and I'll also open a ISA, not sure who with yet as at the minute I don't have one.

    Thanks for all the advice.
