will this mean i get turned down for dla

i have a variety of things wrong including depression, agrophobia, back probs, new hip about to happen..i am in pain and cannot move hardly..i applied for dla and i received a letter today saying that they are going to ask my doctor for information, but i hardly ever see my doctor...the thought of leaving the house scares me to death and last time i saw the doc i was much better than i am now..i just wondered if the information off the doc will mean they turn me down for dla..it just seems a bit unfair if so just because i am too scared and in too much pain to go running to the doctors complaining every minute..

Hi Shely, sorry to hear about your pain, I know it seems bleak when you worry and that you are probably getting a bit down about it all but don't worry yourself too much, these people are aware of the problems many people have. Can you arrange for your dr to visit you at home or for a councilor to visit and talk things through with you. Sit tight I'm sure it will be fine and if they need any more information I'm sure they will come back to you and ask and you can explain about your not being able to get out etc. Keep your chin up, hugs.

You could always write a letter to your gp explaining your problems so they know about them for the report.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

If you are about to have a new hip, then maybe you could request they write to the doctor that has been seeing you for this. With my son I requested they write to the doctor that he sees for his problems as he has never even met his GP! He was awarded based on the information they received from that doctor rather then the GP, although I know the GP receives correspondance from every Paed visit DS attends.

hi, why would this make it better ..
    ...thanks everyone for answering..
  • You could do with seeing your doctor and ask about a pain clinic or pain killers at least, while your there tell them about the DWP please try to make this visit i know it will be hard but try has hard as you can, it will make the doctors job easier in the long run and he can give the right information to the DWP instead if part guessing.
