From Virgin to Egg and back

My 0% BT with Virgin (MBNA) is coming to an end next month. They said they can't extend the 0% but if the balance on it was taken away or paid off, then any new BT would have a 0% rate for 6 months. Can I move this balance to my Egg card then switch it back to Virgin for 6 months? I know Virgin will charge 2.9% but will Egg charge?

Assuming it's the Egg Card (Visa)?
I seem to remember the Egg Card only charges a BT fee during a special promotion (the intro offer, anniversary month, and at any other times there's a special offer on your account).
Do two things:
1. Check your Egg Card T&C's/FAQ for the above wording, and
2. Ask Egg to confirm (secure message is best) there's no special offer on your account at the moment.
Have Virgin said there *is* or there *may* be 0% available? If the former, is there a deadline?0
