Can anyone give some advice.
We are in the process of booking summer holidays for the family ( my husband myself and our 3 kids- 13/12/4) and we have narrowed the choice down to 2 places Mallorca or Malta. Both are villas with shared pools and Malta works out as only slightly more expensive
Can anyone make a suggestion as to where is better to go ...We are not bothered about nightlife as with 3 kids we like a quiet night in anyway
We need to book as soon as possible though due to the flights for both places are going up all the time..
Any advice greatfully received

You really can't go wrong with Mallorca, i would give Malta a miss if I were you...
Mallorca really does cater for everyone. For a family holiday, as previously mentioned Puerto Pollensa is very nice, not too comercialised especially if you chose a villa closer to the old town or in the countryside. Soller is wonderful (town rather than port), cala d'or is nice.
Try tripadvisor.com forums for information from other travellers...i find it very useful...have a great time wherever you choose...0 -
The property in Mallorca is about 2km from Porto Cristo and 5 km from Calla Millor...Its a little townhouse0

My friend has a place in Malta. It is a lot more expensive than Majorca.Would say that Majorca a lot better for families.Lot more to keep them occupied. Majorca has a good cheap bus system which lets you travel around the island is you want to go out fo the day as Palma is a lovely place to visit
As dog food says reseach tripadvisor and you can post there as well and ask if anyone has been there and get there viewpoints.0 -
For kids I too would go with Majorca, I really liked Malta for the historic buildings and the people are so friendly and welcoming but maybe not for kids.0

One big advantage of Malta... nearly everyone understands/speaks English.0

Great part of Mallorca:)
We have been to Cala Bona (just along from Cala Millor) for the past 4 years and return this summer too. Porto Cristo is a lovely cove, it has some fantastic underground caves there too.
Can't comment on Malta but Mallorca certainly offers plenty for all ages especially the north and west
You are not far from Manacor, about 15-20min drive (a very large town for groceries etc...)
Have fun0 -

I've been to both and would def plump for Mallorca, especially with kids. Porto Cristo is beautiful.Member #7 SKI-ers Club
