Builder's day rate - is this normal the rate?

day rates vary around here but anything between 100/200 per day, per man, is the going rate.Get some gorm.0

His work is good and I am happy with it. He is a plasterer by trade but manages other projects too. His skirting board skills are great and I was impressed and it did not take him that long and he moved on to his next job.
I got a quote (£365) from another builder to remove the brickwork surround by my fire place and make it good. My current builder done it in a day so £1500
