next faulty light help

So my mum has this light her freind gav her for xmas last yr, but its stoped working about a month ago, she thought it was her switich in her house, so got an electrcain to fix it but he said its the trasnformer in teh light thats not working, not the wiring, and that it dhould not have broken jsut after a year. she telphoneed next to tell them this, but as she dosnt have reciepet they said there is nothing she can do, unless she gets freind but she dosnt want to tell her is has broken as she would be upset. although itsa year old, only by just, will next give her an new one, she dosnt want to have to tell her freind if they arnt cuz she would jsut buy antoehr one, the light is still on sale in nxt catalpgue for the same price.? ANy help neded thank you

    No, Next won't give her a new one. She either needs to tell her friend, who can then hopefully provide proof of purchase, or forget it and buy a new one.
