How to remove item found by CCleaner?

I have just run CCleanerand the problem I have with IE is, I think, described in the list as -

Browser Address Error Redirection

When I click to delete it I get -

"this will remove the uninstall entry from the registry
. It will not uninstall the entry".

How can I get rid of it?

Dont use ccleaner for that. It sounds to me like your machine may be infected

    Try MALWAREBYTES
    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
(make sure you click 'download now')
    UPDATE and FULL scan

Post the log here after its deleted anything it finds

Hi AlienErik, I did this last week but lost the log - still getting used to this machine. I found it last night in Downloads so I will post that and see if you can spot anything.

Well 'browser redirects' usually point to an infected machine

    Best of luck :)

Probably be a good idea to run a HIJACK log after that too
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/

    reboot
    SCAN and post the log

This is the full scan I did. I couldn't see anything on it. I noticed there have been three other quick scans since this one so it must be programmed?

Post the hijack log. It could easily be a new nasty that Malwarebytes doesnt recognise

Looks clean to me. I personally wouldnt touch Mcafee with a very long bargepole :p
But dont worry about ccleaner being unable to delete the entry.

You can try running the ONE FIX in GLARY UTILITIES if you like

I have just found a Manchester University page giving instructions about removing malware/virus and if I still have the problem tomorrow I'll have a go with that.
