fiat punto exhaust
my fiat punto is only three years old but the exhaust is noisy(sounds to be coming from the mesh bit at the front)i have phoned 3 local garages for prices for the exhaust,full systems and part with some big differences in price between the 3 does anyone know what prices i should be paying and wether the cat is in the front or middle part?the car is a 52 reg 8valve 1.2 engine

So it's none of these then but if it looks similar it will give you an idea of price. Does not include fitting. You ask a small garage to fit the part you buy from your local factors.

It certainly looks like Fiat does front pipes without cat.0 -
I've got a 1996 Punto 1.1 and have had many exhaust probs during the 5 years I have owned it. It has had the exhuast replaced front to back twice, and on one of these occasions, the cat was replaced too.
On my model, the exhaust is a front pipe, then the cat, then the back section, so the three sections can be replaced all at once or one at a time.
For the front pipe I paid £150 from Kwik Fit for it and they did it within 30 minutes. The back pipe I went to Bathwick Tyres (I'm in Dorset - don't know if you have them) and that back pipe and two new tyres was just £130 ish. Plus they have a discount scheme with my employer, so I got the lot for £95.
I don't know if this is a known prob with Puntos, but I seem to have had a few!I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.0 -
