Combi boiler: do I have to keep water switch on all the time?
I ve got combi boiler: heating and hot water together. I wonder will it make any difference if I'll be turning off hot water some days when I dont need it?For example I come from work, go to shower and the rest of the evening I dont need hot water (but heating I do need!), so maybe to switch off water? Will it make any difference or not to bother?

The only difference is that the boiler would not kick in when you wash your hands. This is not a bad thing - soap and cold water is all you need - hot water is more comfortable, not more effective (with germs).
But the savings are negligible and not worth the bother (of having to swan off back to the boiler every time you want the water on and have forgotten.)
Just leave the water switched on.0 -
Thx, Kim! It was important for me to know0

It depends, my combi has a "keep warm" type of memory for hot water, so it keeps hot water on a sort of standby, and sometimes kicks in without me turning on a tap, have you perhaps heard yours doing it in summer?
No doubt costs money but it is not often and as KimYeovil, is it worth the botherGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0
