Hi,
i recently bought windows xp pro - previously i was runnning windows ME.
The bottom line is win Xp is killin my system (pent III, 750 mHz, 256ram) but i need it to run some programs (they won't run on win ME).
I previously had a 30 day demo of xp and installed it on top of win ME - every time i booted up it gave me a choice of win ME or win Xp to run.
Now that i've installed the full version i don't get this choice anymore. It would be nice to run ME some of the time and only run XP when I need to use my speacialised programs.
Does anybody know how i can get this dual functionality - i.e. the choice of which win operating system to use when i boot up.
cheers guys.

When installing XP on PCs running earlier OS you are asked if you want to keep the existing OS or overwrite.
Sounds like you've overwritten.
If you now want a dual-boot system it all depends on your IT knowledge and how much hassle you want.
As you will need to reinstall BOTH operating systems.
You need either two separate hard disks or one HD with two partitions.
Once you have that state you MUST install ME first. Then once it's working install XP. At the stage where it tells you it has detected an existing OS follow the screen prompts.0
