I'm 18, i got insurance on a 1.25 fiesta for £202.25.... i have 1 years no claims... this is on MY OWN POLICY...
if you go to
www.comparethemarket.com
then fill in ur details blah blah blah... then when it says any modifications state that you have braided brake hoses/lines....
On fully comp insurance itll be very cheap....... and if you do purchase all you have to do is get some braided hose lines off ebay for like £50... but very cheap .... my renewal quote was like £1299
so 200 is very good indeed.... let me know wht you guys get!

Be careful on what you spend doing the upgrade.
If this is a mistake then the company will not be bound by it.
So they could cancel your policy and you'll be out of pocket for the parts and labour.0 -
i could do the work myself im dong an engineering apprenticeship so i can do brake hoses lol :P ... but even tho i have a reference number could they still like say that its not possible or just stop the insurance all together?0

I saw this yesterday on another site, and decided not to post it here after trying ity out
Quote for my son .. £197 with modification... or £6000 without the mod from the firm in question
in fact don;'t think you can quote with thsi mod directly on their site.
( comparison site next best £2300)
Interesting that as soon as I pressed the quote button I got a call ( others mentioning this) trying to get telephone quotes * for which I guess the site earns more!)
its either an error ( that I think they will back out of) , or a cunning plan to get names/ numbers via viral marketing this "error"
Braided hoses- might mean others load insurance!!Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
so i can do brake hoses
You might be able to but I would guess this is not a safe thing for most people to attempt DIY due to the consequences of failure. You probably know a lot more about it than me but because it's brakes I would be worried.but even tho i have a reference number could they still like say that its not possible or just stop the insurance all together?
Yes I believe that legally if they make an error then they can cancel it (they might have to give you notice and not jsut stop it instantly).
There have been other cases where for example there has been an LCD TV advertised for £9.99 rather than £999 and the companies are not legally bound to provide the product if it's clearly a mistake.0 -
