please help! sending text messages is barred

hi,
i can no longer send text messages with my mobile phone. it is a sony ericsson w810i and i am with t-mobile pay as you go. i am in credit. i have tried taking the battery and sim card out. nothing works so far. it is only sending text messages that i have a problem with every other feature is working as normal i can even still recieve text messages. when i try to send it just says delivery failed message barred. i even tried to send one to myself.
i called t mobile and the person said they would call me back and has not. i waited half an hour and then called again. this time the person hung up on me. well it went quiet and i heard a ringing tone. i just thought he was connecting me to another department but after it rang for a while it stopped and i heard a message saying something about being unable to connect me i think and then it went quiet. i looked at my phone and indeed the call had been disconnected. as they charge 25p per call and i have wasted 50p already i dont want to keep phoning them.
i am registered on the t mobile site and i thought i would log in to see if there was something that could tell me what was wrong there but i cant remember my username and password. i have a rough idea but it can be a few combinations and after a few guesses it locked me out of my online account. i now have to wait before i can try again but i dont know how long the wait will be.
does anyone know an email address for t mobile for enquiring about this kind of fault?
does anyone out there know what i can do to fix the problem i have?

It is probably the message centre number, sounds like that problem.
Check your manual to see how to check this, and T-mobiles message centre number should be on their website, I'll have a look and see if I can see it.

actually the first person i spoke to asked about that and it was correctly set. sorry i should have mentioned it but i forgot.
anyway i decided to have another go at sending a text while waiting for replies in this thread and unbelievably it went ok. so there cant have been any fault with my phone. i'm no expert but whether there was a fault with a transmitter or with my account i dont know but it seems to have been sorted without them having to send anything new to my phone.
i tell you something i feel sorry for anyone who has to call them with a problem because the people i spoke to didnt seem to have a clue. i called them from my phone and the second person still needed to ask me what my number was. well thats what happens when they move call centres offshore.

Well done, glad it went ok, sometimes it's even just as simple as taking the sim out and giving it a wipe - technology eh?

i have finally got into my online account. there are some things i can add for free it says but i am not exactly sure what i will get from them exactly.
there is who called bar, charge to account bar and full directory listing. can anyone say what i would get with these 3? i know it may be obivous but it isnt to me. well full directory listing. what will that involve? would they send phone directory information to my phone? what exactly is it? the same goes for the other two what exactly are they?
