Hello Guys
Just wanted some advice, my payment for my capital one card was due on 23rd, i made the payment via internet banking on the 20th.
The payment reached my capital one account on the 24th, i have been charged for late payment and going over my limit= £40!!
Obviously i should make my payments earlier, but i think its out of order they charge me that much!! Its not like i'm refusing to pay or anything or its a week late!
I havent called them yet, wanted to ask you guys first.
Whats your advice?
Plus they dont even have a facility where you can pay online on their website, or even call up and make a payment, they are so crap the first chance i get to get rid of them i will!!

Call them up, if it's a first offence they are more willing to reduce/half the fine, not sure if they will totally remove it tho, but if they can see that your funds are in there now (a day late) they may be more willing to help
Sorry it's not a definate answer.....
BTW if you are over your limit they will let you pay with a debit card over the phone, but only when over your limit0 -
Definately call them!! We missed 1 payment with Capital One a few years ago, and they totally dropped the late payment charge (we'd had a good payment record since having the card!!)
With internet banking, I always make sure the payment is due to go out WELL BEFORE its due - just to be sure!!

I work for another credit card company. You need to allow 4 clear working days for payments to clear.
My bank is currently having a crackdown on refunding late payment fees & over limit fees. It does my head in actually cos I would refund many of the late payment fees cos they are genuine. Not so much the overlimit fees thoughMoneyBox savings £30.37 (10/05/06)

the reason i went over my limit was because they added the late payment fee charge!!

You'll probably get half refunded.

sparkle, if you are lucky, you may well get the ol fee removed as well. Speak nicely & don't be off or sarcastic. When people are nice to me they are more likely to get refunds!!! :rotfl:MoneyBox savings £30.37 (10/05/06)

I recently got my sons charges back for his halifax credit card by writing a letter for him to sign. This was after they point blank refused to refund anything at all.
The letter i used is on this thread

Post no. 13, i just altered it slightly to state it was for credit card and not bank account.0
